The Etruschella pasta is produced by the Cooperativa Pantano, established in Tarquinia on September 29, 1952, and promoted by the Maremma Authority, with the aim of carrying out all activities related to the agricultural sector. Operating mainly in the territories of Tarquinia and neighboring municipalities on an agricultural area of approximately 18,500 hectares, it has 1,200 registered members as of December 31, 2009.
Currently, the cooperative is mainly involved in:
a) Collecting, preserving, and marketing agricultural products supplied, with particular emphasis on the collection and marketing of cereals such as durum wheat, corn, seed wheat, organic durum wheat, barley, vetch, oats, and sunflower seeds.
b) Purchasing and distributing products necessary for the agricultural activity of the members, such as seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, and animal feed, through collective purchases.
The Cooperative operates in Tarquinia, on Strada Provinciale Porto Clementino, where it has:
A warehouse for storing bulk cereals with a capacity of 23,000 tons, fully equipped for automatic handling and undergoing transformation for refrigeration.
A facility consisting of 12 metal silos with a total capacity of 21,000 tons, equipped for entry, exit, and ventilation, with a refrigeration facility being provided.
A facility consisting of 8 metal silos with a capacity of 2,000 tons, complete with a grain dryer.
Two storage warehouses for handling supplies, with a total area of 4,250 square meters.
A building housing all offices, including a meeting room.
A state-of-the-art seed selection facility.
